First Impressions

What was your first impression when you saw these photos?

When I first joined Etsy and lurked in the forums, I'd constantly see threads about treasuries. I wasn't sure what the big deal was, and wondered why people called them addicting. My first impression was, wow, that seems like a waste of time.

Well, I also used to think that blogging was a waste of time, but I've found value in it. Regardless of who actually ends up reading it, if anyone.  I've also found value in creating treasuries. Searching through the shops of other artisans and compiling treasuries like the one above actually reminds me to be grateful and appreciate every day that I have. I named the one above "It's all around us."

  1. my first impression- I want all those photos on my wall!
my second impression is that there's something I can relate to in every picture, that if I stop and actually look around, away from the computer, and cell phone, and everything else, I can see so much more.

  2. My first impression was the beauty of things around us. I think treasuries get us to look at things in a grouping and see the connectivity with all those items. I love the treasury titles. First guessing how each item relates without seeing the title and then going back and viewing the title.

  3. I saw this treasury; I loved this treasury! I, too, have found very recently why they are addicting. I have made a few and put the screenshots on my blog. AND, I was in one the other day for the first time ever...THAT was cool. Keep it up!

  7. What a beautiful treasury. I've felt the same way about treasuries but it's lurking in the back of my mind and I suspect that soon I will join in and create one. There are so many wonderful artisans on Etsy and I love to promote and share my favs.
